Job Description

Do you want to work on international quality projects connected with product development, industrialization and launch of new production? For our customer, we are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer who will support international projects in the area of product quality, manufacturing quality and supplier quality. This role is suitable for someone who understands quality not only as inspection, but as an important part of the whole product lifecycle — from development and risk analysis, through validation and pilot runs, up to launch support in manufacturing plants. This is not a purely administrative quality role. We are looking for a technically oriented Quality Engineer who can communicate with product development, manufacturing, suppliers and international project teams, and who is able to manage quality topics independently. The customer’s office is located in Napajedla, Czech Republic. The role can be performed almost fully remotely, but regular travelling is required depending on the project phase. The expected travel load is approximately 30–35% of the time, mainly to manufacturing locations in Germany, France, United Kingdom and Latvia. For this reason, candidates based in the Czech Republic are preferred, with flexibility for international travel.

Job Responsibility

  • Support quality activities within international product development, industrialization and manufacturing projects
  • Cooperate with project teams, product development, manufacturing plants, suppliers and customer representatives
  • Manage and follow up quality deliverables during different phases of the project
  • Support new product introduction and production launch activities
  • Work with APQP and PPAP processes for manufacturing processes, supplier components and final products
  • Prepare, update and follow up FMEA and Control Plans
  • Support pilot runs, production validation and launch phases
  • Identify, assess and follow up product, process and supplier risks
  • Work with quality tools such as SPC, capability studies, MSA and Gage R&R
  • Participate in process audits and supplier audits
  • Support problem solving using 8D methodology, root cause analysis, Ishikawa, 5 Why and similar tools
  • Contribute to preventive quality measures, including Poka-Yoke solutions and interlocks to prevent defect escape
  • Communicate in English with international teams on a daily basis
  • Travel to European manufacturing sites according to project needs, especially during launch phases

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in quality
  • Experience in at least one of the following areas: design quality, reliability engineering, industrialization quality or manufacturing quality
  • Good understanding of quality processes in both product development and production
  • Technical background and ability to understand technical topics related to product design and manufacturing
  • Good knowledge of production processes, for example assembly, electronics, injection molding, lasering or tampoprint
  • Experience with APQP and PPAP processes
  • Practical knowledge of FMEA and Control Plan definition and execution
  • Understanding of statistical quality methods such as SPC, capability studies, MSA and Gage R&R
  • Experience with pilot runs or production launch support
  • Experience with process audits and supplier audits
  • Knowledge of VDA 6.3 principles
  • Basic knowledge of metrology and ISO 8015
  • Experience with problem solving methods such as 8D, root cause analysis, Ishikawa and 5 Why
  • Understanding of Poka-Yoke and interlocks as preventive quality measures
  • Risk management mindset and ability to work with product, process and supplier risks
  • Good project management, supplier management and time management skills
  • Fluent English, including technical English
  • Very good communication skills
  • Customer-oriented and analytical mindset
  • Driving license B and experience with driving
  • Flexibility for international travel, approximately 30–35% of the time

Nice to have

  • Experience with hardware, firmware or electronic products
  • Experience from automotive, electronics, electrotechnical industry or industrial manufacturing
  • Experience working in an agile product development environment
  • Experience with international product development or manufacturing projects
  • Experience with supplier quality and supplier development
  • Previous experience with production plants in Germany, France, UK or Latvia
  • Knowledge of Czech or another European language
  • Ability to communicate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supplier and project management teams
  • Experience with technical, audit or quality documentation
