WE’RE LOOKING FOR A QUALITY ENGINEER, AIRWORTHINESS COMPLIANCE. Ensure compliance with Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) CAR 571 and 573 regulations for Aircraft airworthiness, return to service after maintenance, repair or alterations. Support quality inspectors in the daily activities related to maintenance, coordination of Aircraft & Engine Calendar and/or hourly inspections, repairs, alterations and conformity inspections of aircraft parts, paint and related Backshop, Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) activities. Act as a quality interface between internal and external customers for nonconformance resolutions and customer aircraft delivery activities.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure compliance with Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) CAR 571 and 573 regulations for Aircraft airworthiness, return to service after maintenance, repair or alterations
Support quality inspectors in the daily activities related to maintenance, coordination of Aircraft & Engine Calendar and/or hourly inspections, repairs, alterations and conformity inspections of aircraft parts, paint and related Backshop, Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) activities
Act as a quality interface between internal and external customers for nonconformance resolutions and customer aircraft delivery activities
Airworthiness Compliance: Responsible for representing the Certified Repair Station (CRS) or Transport Canada Civil Aviation Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) for U.S aeronautical products maintained under Bilateral agreement between Canada and United States for the approval of Aircraft, Airframe, Aircraft engine(s), propellers/rotors, appliances or component parts for return to service (RTS) after undergoing inspection, maintenance, preventive maintenance, rebuilding or alterations and for making an entry in the applicable maintenance records with content, form and disposition acceptable to TCCA administrator and Airbus company RTS procedures
Compile comprehensive list of airworthiness directives, alert service bulletins and optional service bulletins, document preservation, maintenance or inspections of Aircraft, Engine(s), Dynamic components, Main or Tail rotor blades, component changes as applicable in respective component log cards for final conformity of Aircraft
Issue TCCA Form Ones, conformity inspection records, airworthiness approvals of new products and articles, return to service of inspected products and articles, that conform to the approved type design requirements and are in a condition for safe operation using procedures
Validation of inspection and/or compliance of life limited, cycle limited components, airworthiness directives, Emergency alert and alert service bulletins for applicable airframe, engine(s) and component calendar and/or hourly technical inspections per applicable manufactures recommended, TCCA/ AMM/ICA approved continuous airworthiness inspection programs
Ensure the state of preservation for Airframe and Engine(s) are reviewed for proper application and current with applicable intervals and carry on calendar maintenance intervals
Validation of testing of emergency locator transmitters (ELT), Transponders, Altimeters, Airspeed Indicators, Air Data Computers, aircraft static pressure systems and automatic pressure altitude reporting systems in accordance with applicable TCCA regulations
Witness functional/operational tests, check-outs, and adjustments of aircraft radios and navigational instruments
This position will require ability to work with precision inspection tools, aids and devices to determine tolerances and specification limits per manufacturer's design data
Performance of dimensional, functional/operational, inspections of aircraft, aircraft electrical systems, flight control systems and sub-components to determine airworthiness as it relates to returning aircraft and components to service after maintenance, repair or alteration
Perform in-process inspections and assess approval/rejection of Backshop outputs of electrical, manufacturing, paint and composites to determine serviceability for installation on aircraft
Inspect aircraft aluminium, titanium or steel structures for cracks, corrosion, damage and proper assembly to ensure serviceability of materials, airframes, and aircraft components
Physically and systematically quarantine non-conforming components and assemblies identified during inspections
Inspect and categorize parts as serviceable, repairable, or rejected/scrap
Verify build of aircraft system wiring harnesses, connectors and electrical terminations, including observation of instrument connections and use of standard testing devices to determine aircraft system instruments and accessories meet required specifications as per design drawings
This position requires ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings, reports, and test specifications for aircraft airworthiness
Accomplish receiving/hidden damage inspections of airframe structures and sub-assemblies for defects that may have occurred during shipping, receiving, or manufacturing
Inspect airframe components to determine proper fit, form, function and disposition of articles routed through shop floor control, warehouse, internal shops and suppliers for conformity and serviceability in accordance with approved data of the components
Ensure proper tagging, identification and airworthiness of parts released to Airframe, Engines, and Accessories to include validation of quantity, part number, and serial numbers of items received with procurement data as well as other specifications to ensure the accuracy and completeness
Ensure all aircraft articles have required documentation (i.e. 8130-3 Airworthiness certificate, EASA Form 1, TCCA form 1, Certificate of Conformance (C of C)
Support the Senior Compliance Engineer with the application for TCCA A/C Marks, Registration , Flight Permit and C of A application
Quality Management System Support: Ensures the implementation of Quality Requirements in regard to engineering tasks (e.g. (MRB), drawing review, Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) Process with suppliers)
Quality liaison/interface for Customer and Technical Support with regards to Aircraft records
Provide support to internal/external audit programs to fulfil regulatory requirements
Provide support of initiation and follow-up in a timely manner of incident handling (WebTEK Dashboard, In Service Incident Report (ISIR) / Quality Notification (QN) / Quality Incident Report (QIR) Non Conformance Management (NCM)
Provide support with analysis and root cause of non-conformities, initiation of appropriate corrective actions to preclude recurrence and Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and assist in the implementation of process improvements
Support Company Key Performance Indicator (KPI) objectives utilizing SAP and other related tools to measure Quality performance and communicate to senior leadership possible solutions for process improvements
Responsible for helping the Technicians on the FAL with achieving their FPY KPI targets
Responsible for training technicians on root cause and corrective actions as needed including the impact of human factors on the Quality of the Aircraft
Help technicians with identifying and troubleshooting failures with the investigation of the root cause based on the failure modes and implementing robust corrective actions
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace, Aviation, Engineering or equivalent related field experience
TCCA Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (AME)
10 years related Quality inspection on Aircraft components and systems
In lieu of degree, 15 years combined experience in a Quality Assurance capacity and/or as a certificated aviation maintenance technician (AMT) and/or (AME)
Airbus H125, H130, H135 Type Rated Training
Ability to interpret technical and regulatory documentation
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of personnel
Familiar with inspection tools, aids and devices used in determining tolerances and specification limits
Have the experience and flexibility to work in multiple areas
Must have the ability to interface with the external customer in regards to aircraft and aircraft records presentation at delivery
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
Must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, members of management and customers on schedule status, delivery of aircraft, aircraft documentation and problem resolution
