The QC Associate I is responsible for conducting routine, accurate, and timely testing of QC samples according to standard protocols, including flow cytometry-related procedures. The role involves data analysis, reporting results, and maintaining documentation. The QC Associate I will prioritize daily workload, work independently, and receive specific instructions and ongoing guidance as needed.
Job Responsibility:
Train and become proficient in required techniques, equipment operation, and software related to testing, data analysis, and reporting
Perform routine QC tests accurately and timely under supervision, prioritizing workload to develop independent working skills
Analyze data, report results, and complete necessary documentation and database entries as per QC protocols
Calibrate and maintain equipment, report issues to the QC Supervisor or Manager, and maintain required logs
Prepare supplies and reagents while assisting with laboratory maintenance
Ensure a safe work environment by identifying and addressing hazards, participating in Environmental, Health & Safety programs, and adhering to safety compliance requirements
Participate in group projects, cross-training, and intra-departmental teams as required
Perform additional duties and assignments as needed
Requirements:
BA/BS degree in a related scientific discipline OR some related college coursework with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a biotech lab environment
Industrial or research laboratory experience preferred
Flow Cytometry experience required
Tissue Culture experience highly preferred
Basic computer skills, including MS Excel & Word
Knowledge of general laboratory safety procedures
Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to follow established policies and procedures
Attention to detail with the ability to maintain neat, accurate, and complete records
Bachelor's degree or relevant college coursework with lab experience
Experience in flow cytometry and familiarity with tissue culture
Ability to work independently while following standard protocols
