We are excited to offer an engaging opportunity for a Quality Control Laboratory Technician to become an integral member of our dedicated Quality Control team at Vitaco. In this vital position, you will play a key role in supporting our laboratory operations, ensuring strict adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and all relevant regulatory standards. You will collaborate closely with our experienced Quality Control Analysts and cross-functional Operations teams, carrying out your responsibilities with precision, professionalism, and a strong commitment to quality and efficiency. You will need to be available for an early start (6:00am – 2:30pm) to align with production schedules and sample availability.
Job Responsibility:
Receiving, processing, and conducting physical and organoleptic testing on bulk product samples
Preparing and sending samples (including raw materials, bulks, microbiological swabs and stability samples) to external contract laboratories
Conducting microbiological environmental monitoring (swabbing and plating), water sampling, and some basic analytical tests
Initiating and performing stability testing
Performing health and safety laboratory checks
Supporting the laboratory’s stock management by monitoring and reordering
Assisting with documentation, maintaining sample and result records
Participating in routine equipment calibration and housekeeping to ensure GLP compliance
Supporting the onboarding and training of new team members as required
Requirements:
A Bachelor of Science or equivalent qualification (essential)
At least 1–2 years’ experience working in a laboratory environment
Familiarity with physical testing (e.g. weight variation, disintegration, friability) and sensory assessments
A sound understanding of GLP and laboratory safety protocols
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing precise, reliable data
Good computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
