Job Description:

The QC Inspector is responsible for working together with contractors to ensure Valley Fiber specifications are maintained, various reporting to management on contractor progress, and working with homeowners to resolve any escalated issues. This position reports to the Damage Prevention Manager and will report to our Winnipeg or Lockport location.

Job Responsibility:

  • Monitoring overall civil construction being done to Valley Fiber design specifications
  • Educate the contractors, if necessary, on what spec is and suggest how to achieve it
  • Reporting to management on contractor progress via software Site Docs, Vitruvi and ARC GIS
  • Inspections on completed contractor work that meets spec. and reporting if the work is not to spec
  • Coordinating with management and contractor to take corrective actions so work completed is to spec
  • Damage reports, investigation, escalated customer issues

Requirements:

  • Underground construction experience is required
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license is required
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
  • High level of organization
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to work away from home as required
  • Ability to be on call and work overtime as required
  • Ability to physically lift 50 lbs as required
