Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Tester to join our client for a long-term contract position. This role is based in Austin, Texas, and offers an exciting opportunity to lead and support testing activities for software development and system modernization projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to ensuring software quality and system functionality.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage and oversee advanced quality assurance tasks throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring thorough testing and analysis
  • Diagnose and resolve software issues, providing troubleshooting support to both internal and external clients
  • Develop and implement User Acceptance Testing strategies tailored to modernization initiatives, coordinating resources and subject matter experts
  • Facilitate sprint review processes, collaborating with vendor staff and business stakeholders to gather feedback
  • Evaluate test cases provided by vendors, offering suggestions for improvement and refinement
  • Create and update test cases in collaboration with business users and SMEs, conducting testing and delivering detailed reports on outcomes
  • Lead defect triage sessions, prioritizing and managing issues effectively while identifying recurring themes
  • Conduct root cause analysis for defects, proposing enhancements to prevent future occurrences
  • Prepare and present weekly updates on testing progress, defect management, and requirement traceability
  • Ensure exit criteria are met and secure final sign-off from business stakeholders

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Selenium for web browser automation
  • Solid experience in manual testing and quality assurance processes
  • Familiarity with Zendesk or similar tools
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance principles and testing methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to create, review, and refine test cases
  • Excellent problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving software issues
