This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.

Job Responsibility

  • Verify supplier compliance with purchase contracts, customer specs, and regulations across manufacturing, quality systems, special processes, and product standards
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of supplier contracts, specs, drawings, and manufacturing plans to ensure alignment with documented requirements
  • Facilitate audits, surveys, and inspections to uphold compliance, representing the company in supplier interactions
  • Ensure suppliers establish and maintain approved Quality Systems per company and customer standards
  • Collaborate with suppliers on Notifications of Escapement (NOE) and 8D processes, developing Control Plans and monitoring progress for quality standards adherence

Requirements

  • 6-9 years of experience in manufacturing and operations or Quality/Manufacturing Engineering
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Travel up to 30%
  • HS Diploma or GED

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
  • Certification in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Proficiency in Root Cause Corrective Action and ability to conduct conformity checks
  • Strong skills in interpreting drawings, procedures, First Article Inspections (FAI), and understanding contracts
  • Additional knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Six Sigma, and Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
  • Technical or Engineering degree preferred
