As the founding member of our US Quality Assurance team, your mandate is to ensure our business operates safely, responsibly and up to our highest standards. You will standup and own the function end-to-end; conducting audits, investigating issues, setting up reports and implementing action plans in partnership with the Operations team. This role reports to our US Strategy & Business Operations Manager and will require travel as necessary to Boston, Washington DC and Los Angeles.
Job Responsibility:
Build and run the US Quality Assurance program
Adapt our UK QA standards and audit framework to the US operation
Conduct quarterly end-to-end store audits and coach managers through structured action planning
Drive continuous improvement through partnership, not policing - you're here to raise standards and shift mindsets across the field
Launch and manage our mystery shopper program end-to-end
Partner with the UK team to establish our mystery shopper program in the US
Oversee program execution to ensure shopper accuracy and data integrity
Surface actionable insights to operators and support action planning where it matters most
Drive continuous improvement through systems and process improvement
Identify operational gaps and systemic issues through audit findings and field observations
Design, document and implement new SOPs, systems, and tools to address gaps and elevate standards
Partner cross-functionally to ensure new processes are adopted and embedded across the field
Become our subject matter expert on operational standards
Lead through obsessive attention to detail - set the bar for cleanliness, compliance, and presentation across all stores
Train and coach managers, shift leads, and baristas on Health & Safety and cleaning standards during onboarding and ongoing development
Requirements:
4+ years of experience in a Quality Assurance and/or Food Safety role, preferably within the hospitality sector
Experience in the implementation, management and review of audits across an organization[s]
In-depth knowledge of legislative provisions and best practices
Experience in managing, drafting and implementation of operational SOPs
Ability to conduct thorough incident investigations, analyze data, and develop actionable recommendations
Required to be based in New York or consider relocating
Willingness to travel across different sites globally and regionally
