The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring that products, processes, and systems comply with internal standards and international quality frameworks. This role will play a key part in leading and maintaining the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS), maintaining certifications, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of quality excellence while mitigating regulatory, contractual, and customer risk across the organization.
Job Responsibility:
Manage the implementation and delivery of assigned project material, established timelines, budgets and expectations of quality
Maintain quality assurance objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals
Reviews data obtained during all quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures
Prepares and chairs bi-annual ISO 9001 Management Review Meetings to comply with company policy
Ensure company quality records are current and accurate based on internal processes
Maintains knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards
Oversees the investigation and resolution of customer complaints regarding technical or quality issues
Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standards
Prepare for and lead annual ISO9001 certification and audits
Lead internal and external audits to ensure compliance with ISO and regulatory requirements
Act as the primary liaison with certification bodies and regulatory agencies during inspections and audits
Prepare, review, and update quality documentation, including Quality System Procedures, Work Instructions, Quality Forms, and records
Support the root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions (CARs)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality standards are integrated throughout product design, manufacturing, and delivery
Train and mentor team members on quality principles, ISO compliance, and continuous improvement tools
Performs in-process inspections, drawing reviews, material receiving, and other duties performed by Quality Inspector team as needed
Supervise the Quality Assurance team, specifically those performing in-process inspections and the receiving department, and is responsible for timecards, performance management, training, and workload prioritization
Requirements:
Eight or more years’ experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment
At least five years of experience in Quality Assurance leadership or management
Experience supervising quality personnel, including performance management, training, resource planning, and ensuring consistent application of quality standards across operations
Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
Extensive experience with ISO 9001:2015
Experience conducting internal and external audits
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey quality requirements, findings, and corrective actions to technical and non-technical audiences
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and compliance
Self-directed with the ability to work independently, while also collaborating effectively across departments and organizational levels
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with internal stakeholders
Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess systems and processes, identify gaps or risks, and implement effective solutions
Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage competing demands with professionalism
Ability to handle pressure and ambiguity while maintaining focus, sound judgment, and adherence to quality standards
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field
advanced certifications or equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
U.S. Citizenship Required
Must be able to successfully pass an initial background screening
Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance
Must be able and willing to travel domestically and, on occasion, internationally
Must comply with company drug-free workplace policy
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
Ability to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, and operate tools, equipment, and computer peripherals
Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and in writing
Visual acuity required to perform inspections, read drawings, specifications, and computer screens
Ability to conduct in-process inspections, including bending, stooping, and reaching
Ability to access manufacturing areas, equipment, and inspection stations safely
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move materials, tools, or equipment up to 30 pounds
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying noise levels, temperatures, and activity
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Nice to have:
Familiarity with AS9100 desired
Familiarity with quality standards and processes to follow federal, state and local regulations
Experience with Atlassian Jira Software or a similar issue-tracking application
