The Quality Assurance Consultant will play a crucial role in enhancing customs processes for the European Commission. This position requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in quality assurance methodologies, project management, and a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science. The consultant will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement improvements and ensure compliance with industry standards. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, along with a commitment to continuous improvement and leadership capabilities.
Job Responsibility:
Continuously assess and enhance existing processes to optimise efficiency and effectiveness
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement, implement corrective actions, and monitor the impact on overall quality
Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in IT processes and systems
Develop risk mitigation strategies and work with project teams to integrate risk management into the project life cycle
Define/Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality metrics to measure the success of IT projects
Generate regular reports for management, highlighting quality trends, issues, and improvement opportunities
Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with TAXUD policies, EC/industry standards, and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with internal and external auditors to address findings and implement corrective actions
Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the awareness of quality standards and best practices among IT teams
Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the organisation
Evaluate and monitor the quality of deliverables from other service providers
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role
Deep understanding of business needs and expectations
Worked into complex infrastructure projects, that required operational and processes knowhow in the area of: cloud migration&extension, infrastructure maintainance, support or extension, cybersecurity
Proven experience in quality assurance methodologies, processes, and tools
Certification in quality management (e.g. Six Sigma)
Project Management Skills: Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive quality initiatives within project timelines
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Exceptional analytical skills to identify and address quality issues
Ability to solve complex problems and make data-driven decisions
Excellent communication skills to articulate quality requirements and issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Collaborative approach to work effectively with diverse teams
Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards in IT (e.g., ISO 9001, CMMI, GDPR)
Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies
Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the highest standards of quality in IT deliverables
Leadership skills to inspire and guide a team toward achieving quality objectives
Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work under pressure, and navigate through ambiguity
Excellent command of both spoken and written English (any other European language would be a plus)
