Job Responsibility:

  • Assure quality food products and processes by establishing/enforcing food safety programs, plans, and quality standards, observing bulk production and the documentation of results
  • Reinforce the Quality/food safety program by working with Bulk department production personnel to support ingredient control, proper storage practices, meeting customer specifications, personnel training, and label/traceability accuracy and GMPs adherence
  • Maintain and improve product quality by investigating issues and collaborating with other members of staff to develop new process methods to support the quality of our products
  • Ensure compliance with SQF, FDA, Federal State and local agencies
  • Train personnel on SOPs and other Food Safety Programs
  • Approve oil for outgoing tank wagons
  • Inspect all outgoing tank wagons before the tank wagons are loaded. This includes inspection of pumps
  • filters
  • hoses and inside the tanks
  • Support the lab as needed to complete testing and COAs
  • Perform Pre-op
  • GMP audits where needed
  • Assist in Third party audit preparations
  • In the absence of a QA Technician, another QA Technician
  • Manager of Quality or the Director of Quality will cover
  • Other Responsibilities assigned by Manager of Quality

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year experience working as a Quality Technician in a production environment preferably food
  • Degree in Biological Science or related disciplines or equivalent years of experience
  • Knowledge of HACCP, SPC, TQM, FSMA and SQF Quality and Food Safety audits
  • Problem solving and root cause analysis ability
  • Good communicator, able to communicate with people at all levels
  • Strong computer and numeration skills
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good documentation skills
  • Self-starter with attention to detail
  • Does involve some physical requirements of climbing and bending
  • Able to work in all types of environments (weather, sounds etc.)
  • Must be willing and capable of wearing a safety harness as required
