Job Description:

Join a supportive SEN school and college in Cranleigh, Surrey for learners aged 4-19 and 18-35+ with special educational needs. Embrace a tailored approach with small classes, personalized attention, and excellent facilities like trampolines, sensory rooms, and IT suites.

Job Responsibility:

Lead a small class of 6-8 students
develop individualized learning plans for each student
collaborate with 1:1 support staff to ensure effective delivery of learning plans

Requirements:

Valid UK teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, etc.)
passion for working with children and young adults with special educational needs
patience, caring attitude, and excellent communication skills
strong understanding of individualized learning plans and ability to adapt teaching methods
ability to work with students exhibiting challenging behavior
experience with Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECs) or other communication tools for non-verbal learners (desirable)
experience with speech & language or BSL (desirable)
valid DBS check
full driving licence (preferred)
GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4 or equivalent)
eligibility to work in the UK without sponsorship

Nice to have:

Experience with Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECs) or other communication tools for non-verbal learners
experience with speech & language or BSL
