Job Description:

This is a well-renowned independent special school providing therapeutic and child-centered education for students aged 11 to 17 years with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), such as Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties. The role involves creating inspiring lessons, designing curriculum, and supporting students in their personal and academic development.

Job Responsibility:

Collaborate on curriculum design to meet students' diverse educational and social needs
develop and implement engaging lesson plans and learning targets
monitor and report on student progress
participate in reviews of Statements, EHC plans, and PEPs
stay updated on autism-related best practices
support students' individual needs in a non-confrontational and inclusive manner

Requirements:

QTS
experience in teaching
strong communication skills
empathy
knowledge of best practices related to autism and special education needs

Nice to have:

experience with ADHD and Autism
knowledge of therapeutic and child-centered education methods
