Job Description:

Are you an experienced Qualified Social Worker? Do you have a passion for supporting children through care and into independence? We have a fantastic Locum Social Work Opportunity within a newly developed Through Care Service that supports both Cared for Children and Care Experienced Young People in the Trafford, Greater Manchester area. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a service that has brought together Permanence and Aftercare teams to offer a 'through care' approach, supporting young people from their permanence plan right through to adulthood and independence.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support children and young people aged 0-25 on their permanence journey
  • Build lasting relationships that offer young people a sense of belonging and emotional security
  • Work with multi-agency partners to provide wraparound support
  • Recognise and respond to trauma and hidden hurt
  • Empower care experienced young people to build independent, successful futures
  • Create and review care and pathway plans that reflect the voice of the young person

Requirements:

  • Experience working with Cared for Children, leaving care, or permanence services
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and relationship-based social work
  • Social Work England registration
  • Ability to engage effectively with teenagers and care experienced young adults
  • Passion for making a long-term difference in young people's lives
