We have an excellent opportunity to join Redcar Council's Safeguarding Locality Team at a competitive rate of £31.74 per hour. Redcar Council is dedicated to providing robust safeguarding services to its community. As part of our Safeguarding Locality Team, you'll be instrumental in protecting vulnerable children, working within a supportive and collaborative environment that champions best practice.
Job Responsibility:
Managing a complex caseload of children and families who are subject to child protection plans, child in need plans, or pre-proceedings
Undertaking comprehensive assessments, including single assessments and section 47 enquiries, to identify risk, need, and strengths within families
Developing, implementing, and reviewing robust child protection and child in need plans in partnership with children, families, and multi-agency professionals
Leading and actively participating in child protection conferences, core group meetings, and other multi-agency forums, ensuring the child's voice is central to all decision-making
Initiating and progressing pre-proceedings and care proceedings when necessary, preparing accurate and timely court reports and statements
Undertaking direct work with children and families, building meaningful relationships, promoting resilience, and facilitating positive change
Working collaboratively with a range of partners, including health, education, police, and voluntary sector organisations, to ensure integrated support
Maintaining accurate, analytical, and up-to-date case records in line with statutory requirements and Redcar Council's policies
Providing clear, professional advice and guidance to families and other professionals regarding safeguarding concerns and child protection processes
Participating in duty rotas as required by the service
Adhering to all relevant legislation, statutory guidance, and local policies to ensure high standards of practice and child safety
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with a degree in Social Work or equivalent
Social Work England registration is essential and must be current
An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role
