Are you a skilled and passionate Social Worker ready to be the frontline response for children and families? Are you looking for an exciting role within the Children and Families Service where you can showcase your experience and skills? Randstad are recruiting for a Qualified Social Worker to join Dumfries and Galloway Children's and Families Service. This is a full time role offering a fantastic competitive pay rate.

Job Responsibility:

  • Protecting children and young people at risk of harm, abuse, or neglect
  • Investigating child protection concerns
  • Undertaking initial screening and referral discussions (IRD) with partner agencies
  • Carrying out assessments of risk and need
  • Implementing and monitoring Child's Plans
  • Fulfilling statutory duties relating to children looked after by the local authority
  • Recruiting, assessing, and supporting foster carers and adoptive parents
  • Providing support to children cared for by extended family or friends
  • Providing support to children and families struggling to cope
  • Working directly with the whole family
  • Offering practical assistance, advocacy, guidance, and advice
  • Helping families build parenting skills and confidence
  • Establishing routines and building life skills
  • Identifying needs and providing early support
  • Undertaking assessments using models like 'Signs of Safety'
  • Working with partner services to address mental health needs
  • Collaborating closely with other professionals and agencies
  • Working in partnership to implement and monitor a child's plan

Requirements:

  • Social Work Degree
  • SSSC registration
  • PVG
  • Experience in Children services
