Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Locum Social Worker to join a Kinship Team in the Stockport, Greater Manchester area. You will be based with the Fostering Service, completing kinship assessment for the fostering panel, courts and offer support to kinship foster carers.

Job Responsibility

  • Conduct assessments of kinship caregivers, children and their immediate environment
  • Court Assessment Work
  • Case Management, implement case plans for kinship families
  • Provide support to the kinship caregivers and the children
  • Be an advocate for the children and kinship families
  • Link Kinship caregivers and the children with resources such as education, health care, legal support and financial assistance

Requirements

  • 1-3 years experience of working within a similar social work setting
  • Experience of assessing kinship caregivers and implementing case plans
  • Diploma/Degree in Social Work
  • SWE registration
