Are you a committed Qualified Social Worker? Do you have a passion for providing first class support to Children and Adult's Services? Randstad are currently recruiting for a Locum Social Worker to join an Emergency Duty Team in the Trafford, Greater Manchester area. The role of the EDT Social Worker is to promote and safeguarding the welfare of children in need and looked after children. The role will be based at home however travel and in person responses will be required within Trafford and neighbouring hospital, outside of the Trafford area. ON-call management arrangements will be in place to support staff and ensure management oversight and approvals are given outside of working hours

Job Responsibility

  • carrying out an initial assessment of the presenting situation and establish a safe and viable solution pending follow up by the daytime services
  • providing a high-quality, effective social work service to respond to the needs of children and their families in a timely manner and within statutory guideline

Requirements

  • 3-5 years' experience of working within a similar social work setting
  • A diploma/degree or equivalent in social work
  • Social Work England registration
  • Ability to work autonomously out of hours
  • Good risk assessment skills
  • Experience of dealing with people in crisis
