We are seeking a high-caliber Qualified Social Worker to join a fast-paced Duty and Assessment Team covering the Central Lancs region, based out of Preston. Job Responsibility
Initial Assessments: Conducting comprehensive, child-centric statutory assessments under Section 17 and Section 47 of the Children Act
Crisis Triage: Rapidly evaluating incoming referrals from schools, health professionals, and the public to determine the appropriate level of intervention
Safeguarding Action: Implementing immediate safety plans for children at risk, escalating matters to long-term teams or initiating legal proceedings when required
Collaborative Liaison: Working hand-in-hand with multi-agency partners to ensure a cohesive approach to immediate family distress
Requirements
at least three years' experience in a permanent post within a UK local authority
not have held a permanent or fixed-term contract directly with a local authority within the last 12 weeks
