Job Description:

Are you a committed Social Worker looking to make a tangible difference in the Scottish Borders? We are currently seeking a resilient and child-centered practitioner to join a dedicated team in Duns and/or Hawick. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, balancing the immediacy of Duty work with the long-term impact of Children & Families casework.

Job Responsibility:

  • Duty Coverage: Managing incoming referrals, conducting initial screenings, and responding to urgent safeguarding concerns
  • Casework: Overseeing a varied caseload including Child Protection, Children in Need, and Looked After Children (LAC)
  • Assessment & Planning: Conducting robust integrated assessments and implementing effective care plans
  • Collaboration: Working closely with schools, health professionals, and police to ensure a holistic approach to child welfare

Requirements:

  • A degree in Social Work or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
  • Current SSSC registration as a social worker
