We're proud to be working in partnership with Knowsley Council to recruit passionate and experienced Social Workers for their Child Protection team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive, progressive local authority that truly values its people. You'll be part of a team where manageable caseloads, reflective supervision, and high quality practice are central all to ensure children and families receive the best possible support and protection.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage a manageable Child Protection caseload, ensuring all work is focused on improving outcomes for children and young people
  • Undertake child protection investigations, assessments, and direct work with families in complex situations
  • Develop and implement robust care and safety plans, ensuring timely interventions and effective multi-agency collaboration
  • Work closely with schools, health professionals, police, and partner agencies to safeguard and support children
  • Prepare and present reports for court proceedings, case conferences, and statutory reviews
  • Promote child-centred, strengths-based practice, empowering families to make sustainable changes

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker
  • Social Work England (SWE) registration
  • BSc or equivalent qualification in Social Work
  • experience within a Child Protection, Safeguarding, or similar statutory social work team
  • court experience and confidence in preparing and presenting professional reports
  • strong communication skills
  • emotional resilience
  • a genuine passion for protecting vulnerable children
