As a Children’s Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. You will work closely with families, carers, and other professionals to assess needs, develop care plans, and provide ongoing support. This role is a part time position working 22.5 hours over 3 days a week. We're looking for a qualified Social Worker with extensive and recent experience working in front line. This is a fast paced role that requires the practitioner to be able to work quickly, efficiently, comfortable making decisions and safety planning whilst assessing risk. This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham so you must reside within a suitable commutable distance around Birmingham and have the correct right-to-work documents to work in the UK. Sadly, we do not support those who require sponsorship.

Job Responsibility:

  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
  • Work closely with families, carers, and other professionals to assess needs, develop care plans, and provide ongoing support
  • Develop robust partnerships with other teams and outside agencies
  • to include the police, health, schools and voluntary organisations

Requirements:

  • A degree in Social Work and you must have completed your ASYE
  • Registration with Social Work England (SWE)
  • Ideally will have access to your own car for travel (travel expenses are paid for visits)
  • Experience working with children and families in a social work setting
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills
  • Excellent time management skills working quickly and effectively to provide an excellent level of service
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
