Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Nursery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for working with young children, excellent communication skills, and a nurturing demeanor. As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the nursery and promoting the holistic development of the children in your care.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities and experiences that support children learning and development
  • Provide a safe, secure, and stimulating environment for children to explore and learn
  • Support children personal care routines, including feeding, toileting, and nap times
  • Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues, maintaining open and effective communication at all times
  • Observe and assess children progress, documenting their achievements and identifying areas for further development
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create and maintain a warm, welcoming, and inclusive nursery environment
  • Adhere to safeguarding and health and safety policies and procedures at all times

Requirements

  • Minimum Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting preferred
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
  • Valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development

  • Paediatric First Aid qualification
  • Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting
