Requirements

A recognised fitness instructor or coaching qualification, ideally to Level 3, to support and deliver group exercise classes
Experience working with a diverse customer base, ideally including people aged 55 and over
A good working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, particularly within a gym, pool, or wellbeing environment
Willingness to undertake additional training, including pool maintenance and water hygiene
A flexible approach to working hours, responding to the evolving needs of the village and its residents
A friendly, approachable manner with strong communication skills and a genuine passion for wellbeing and community engagement

Job Responsibility

Managing the day-to-day operation of the gym and wellbeing facilities, ensuring opening and closing procedures are followed
Checking, documenting, and maintaining the safety and condition of all gym equipment
Providing fitness assessments, consultations, inductions, and guidance on healthy lifestyles
Setting up, supporting, and running gym classes
delivering classes where qualified (instructor experience desirable)
Supporting swimming pool maintenance, with full training provided
Taking responsibility for the cleanliness and presentation of the gym, swimming pool, sauna, steam room, and changing areas
Carrying out regular cleaning tasks to ensure facilities remain hygienic, safe, and welcoming
Promoting gym memberships, wellbeing programmes, and fitness classes to residents and visitors
Supporting the development and delivery of marketing initiatives for the health and wellbeing facilities
