The Dispensing Assistant is an integral member of the pharmacy team, often the first point of contact for customers seeking healthcare advice, collecting prescriptions, or purchasing medicine. The role is rewarding and makes a difference to patient healthcare in the local community.
Job Responsibility:
Manufacturing dosette trays for community patients needing extra support
Downloading and preparing prescriptions sent from surgery or for collection
Supporting the medicines counter assistant and pharmacist
Having effective conversations with customers to ensure right level of care and medication
Engaging with customers about additional services including Pharmacy First scheme
Requirements:
NVQ2 in dispensing (National Pharmacy Association or equivalent) for qualified role
Willingness to enroll in NVQ2 course (9-12 months completion) for trainee role
Ability to work varied hours including 1x 22:00 finish per week and some weekends on a rota
Ability to work 30-37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours a day) with potential overtime
