Job Description:

As the QESH Advisor, you will take ownership of developing, implementing, and maintaining our quality, environmental, safety, and health management systems. You will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards, promoting best practices, and supporting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the organisation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain QESH policies, procedures, and programmes in line with company objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections across manufacturing and engineering operations to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement
  • Support risk assessments and implement effective control measures to mitigate hazards and ensure a safe working environment
  • Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses, preparing reports and recommending corrective actions
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on QESH practices, raising awareness and promoting a proactive safety culture
  • Collaborate with management and operational teams to integrate QESH considerations into all business activities
  • Monitor environmental performance, waste management, and energy usage, driving initiatives to reduce environmental impact
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, industry standards, and best practices
  • Prepare and present regular reports on QESH performance to senior management
  • Support external audits and inspections, ensuring readiness and compliance

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a QESH role within Engineering, Manufacturing or Industrial environments
  • Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (e.g. ISO 9001), Environmental Management Systems (e.g. ISO 14001), and Health & Safety standards (e.g. ISO 45001, NEBOSH qualifications desirable)
  • Excellent knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation
  • Ability to conduct audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Organised and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant QESH software tools
  • Committed to continuous professional development and staying current with industry trends
