Good written and oral communication skills in English
MLO / Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or comparable
Pro-active, able to work independently as well as in a team, flexible and organized
GMP / GLP experience is beneficial

Job Responsibility

Training on and understanding basic testing and laboratory practices
Providing support to the laboratory by performing operational tasks such as equipment maintenance and calibration, preparation of samples and reagents, document management
Generating results data, analyzing data, and reviewing with peers and supervisor
Delivering test activities in line with the schedule and lab priorities with a good record of first-time testing
Displaying knowledge of products manufactured at specific location and some understanding of the QC methods relative to product quality

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from an A.C.S. accredited chemistry program is preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in other physical science disciplines will be considered if strong evidence of laboratory analytical chemistry skill is demonstrated
Minimum of 1 year of Analytical Chemistry laboratory experience preferred
Experience with ICP, UV-VIS, GC, IC, and FT-IR, is valuable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Presentation skills sufficient to communicate thoughts succinctly to Lab Supervisor and Operations managers
Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Job Responsibility

Receive and log samples into LIMS system
Perform Analytical Chemistry testing as required
Prepare Reports of Analytical Chemistry Results
Check, Calibrate, and Maintain Laboratory Equipment
Responsible for the analysis of a wide range of samples submitted by the Yazoo City Complex to ensure they meet quality specifications
Perform routine analysis on environmental samples, quality control and calibration of laboratory instrumentation, and data entry
Work closely with one or more quality control technicians
Certain samples will need to be collected by the lab

Perform regular routine cleaning tasks on the chemical sampling booth and surrounding work area
Support QC laboratory with reagent preparation, testing, sample handling when required
Be responsible for equipment. Perform calibration checks in accordance with procedures. Ensure that equipment is operated and maintained correctly
Support with daily activity scheduling and planning when required
