Cranswick Gourmet Sausage Co. (Lazenby's) is our fast-paced sausage facility located in Hull. Using only the best cuts of British pork, fresh herbs and spices, Cranswick are the UK's leading producer of gourmet sausages and burgers, supplying major retailers and foodservice outlets alike. We currently have opportunities for a motivated individual with preferably food industry experience to join our busy Technical Team as a QA Technician. The role involves checking all aspects of food safety, quality and legality for the products are adhered to at all times. Hours - 4 on 4 off 6:00 till 18:00 Pay - £14.78 per hour

Job Responsibility

  • Audit and monitor all stages of the manufacturing process
  • Audit and ensure good manufacturing practice across the site
  • Monitor the quality of products
  • Accurately complete paperwork and record relevant information
  • Ensure the hygiene and housekeeping within the area exceeds the daily audit target
  • Educate production colleagues on good manufacturing practice
  • Ensure all start-up checks are completed

  • Reinforce the Quality/food safety program by working with Bulk department production personnel to support ingredient control, proper storage practices, meeting customer specifications, personnel training, and label/traceability accuracy and GMPs adherence
  • Maintain and improve product quality by investigating issues and collaborating with other members of staff to develop new process methods to support the quality of our products
  • Ensure compliance with SQF, FDA, Federal State and local agencies
  • Train personnel on SOPs and other Food Safety Programs
  • Approve oil for outgoing tank wagons
  • Inspect all outgoing tank wagons before the tank wagons are loaded. This includes inspection of pumps
