To provide advanced technical oversight of site inspection activities, ensure the competency and performance of Contractors’ QA/QC Inspectors, and verify that all Electrical and Instrumentation (E/I) inspections are executed in accordance with COMPANY standards, project specifications, and relevant international codes. This role acts as the field-level focal point for inspection supervision and reporting, working functionally under the QA/QC Engineer.
Job Responsibility:
Supervise and perform inspections for all Electrical and Instrumentation construction, installation, and testing activities at site
Ensure compliance with COMPANY requirements, approved ITPs, project specifications, and internationally recognized codes and standards
Review, verify, and endorse inspection reports, check sheets, red-line markups, and associated documentation submitted by the Contractor
Monitor and assess the competency and performance of Contractors’ QA/QC Inspectors, providing guidance where necessary
Witness FAT, SAT, and site testing activities such as continuity, insulation resistance, loop checks, functional testing, grounding verification, and cable installation inspections
Verify material compliance at site (cables, panels, instruments, junction boxes, EX equipment, etc.) against approved MRs and datasheets
Support shutdown and brownfield execution teams by ensuring safe and compliant inspection processes under live plant operating conditions
Coordinate with Construction, Commissioning, and HSE teams to resolve technical issues and maintain quality control across all E/I activities
Raise NCRs, surveillance reports, and monitor corrective actions until closeout
Prepare daily/weekly quality reports and escalate any critical quality issues to the QA/QC Engineer
Requirements:
Electrical Engineering Diploma or equivalent qualification
Trade Certificates in Electrical and/or Instrumentation (preferred)
Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles and practices
Familiarity with industry codes and standards including: IEC, NEC, NFPA, BS, NEMA, NETA, ATEX/IECEx (IEC 60079 series)
Additional certifications in inspection, QA/QC, or E&I specialization will be an added advantage
Minimum 8 years of QA/QC experience within the oil & gas industry
Experience across both greenfield and brownfield project environments
Extensive exposure to shutdown/turnaround inspection activities, preferably in LNG facilities or similar high-hazard operating plants
Strong capability in conducting inspections and overseeing contractors across procurement, fabrication, construction, installation, and testing phases
Solid understanding and hands-on experience with key E/I standards such as IEC, NEC, NFPA, BS, NEMA, NETA, ATEX/IECEx-60079, etc.
Proven ability to work under tight schedules and constrained execution windows while maintaining quality and safety compliance
Nice to have:
Trade Certificates in Electrical and/or Instrumentation
Additional certifications in inspection, QA/QC, or E&I specialization
Experience preferably in LNG facilities or similar high-hazard operating plants
