Madbox is a fast-growing mobile gaming company. QA plays a key strategic role in a shift-left approach, involved from the very beginning of feature conception and pre-production. As a QA Engineer, you will be the quality owner for Pocket Champs, partnering closely with designers, developers, and PMs from day one to anticipate risks early, shape acceptance criteria, and ensure smooth delivery. Your ownership and expertise will directly impact millions of players each day.
Job Responsibility:
Represent QA from the earliest stages of pre-production, participating in feature ideation and kickoffs
Identify risks early and help define clear, testable acceptance criteria
Build and maintain efficient test strategies, combining structured test cases with exploratory testing
Own and manage the bug backlog: triage, prioritize, track, and communicate issues clearly with the team
Investigate and reproduce issues, analyze logs, identify patterns, and propose leads to developers
Validate fixes and ensure feature stability, performance, usability, and high-quality releases across devices
Collaborate closely with developers, designers, PMs, analysts, and artists to deliver cohesive, polished features
Contribute to process improvements, automation ideas, and overall QA maturity within the Pocket Champs team and Madbox
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in QA, ideally in mobile gaming, LiveOps, and/or fast-paced production environments
Strong understanding of mobile gameplay, UX, and how to evaluate game-feel and clarity
Skilled in building test strategies and adapting them to evolving requirements
Excellent bug investigation skills and ability to isolate issues thoroughly
Experience owning or managing a bug backlog
Strong communication skills with the ability to challenge ideas constructively and align teams
Proactive and autonomous - comfortable taking ownership of quality from conception to release
Advanced level of English
Nice to have:
Familiarity with logs, monitoring tools, build systems, or CI/CD is a plus
Previous experience working on a scaled mobile game is a plus
