Airspace Link is seeking a QA Engineer to join our engineering team and help ensure our software delivers a high level of reliability, usability, and trust. This role will initially focus on hands-on testing of the AirHub Portal and AirHub APIs, while also helping lay the foundation for future test automation and scalable QA practices. You will work closely with engineering and product teams to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle—from requirements and design through release. This role will proactively identify and mitigate quality defects, design robust architectures, and develop tools to automate and streamline our quality assurance testing processes. Your expertise will be crucial in building innovative, resilient, and trustworthy products that meet all regulatory and compliance standards.
Job Responsibility:
Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to deliver high-quality software across the AirHub Portal and AirHub APIs
Develop, document, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and quality standards within an agile development environment
Perform functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing across supported browsers and platforms
Conduct API-level and integration testing using tools such as Postman or similar
Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps, expected outcomes, and validation criteria
Serve as a resource and coach for engineering teams on best practices for designing and scaffolding effective test suites, helping improve overall test quality and long-term maintainability
Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives to ensure quality is embedded early in the development process
Support cross-functional bug triage and resolution efforts
Monitor and investigate customer-reported issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend quality improvements
Advocate for product quality, usability, and accessibility (a11y) across the platform
Contribute to the evaluation, design, and gradual introduction of test automation tools and frameworks as the product and team mature
Requirements:
3–5+ years of experience in QA engineering, with strong experience testing web applications
Hands-on experience testing REST APIs and integrations
Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and Agile methodologies
Excellent attention to detail and clear written and verbal communication
Ability to think holistically about product quality—not just individual features
Comfortable collaborating closely with engineers, product managers, and designers
Hiring for this role is contingent on a clear background check
Nice to have:
Experience writing or maintaining automated tests, or a strong desire to grow into automation
Familiarity with automation tools/frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar)
Experience testing data-heavy, GIS, or mapping applications
Accessibility (a11y) testing experience
Exposure to compliance-driven or regulated software environments
Familiarity with aviation, UTM, or drone-related systems (e.g., LAANC, Part 107)
