Job Description:

The QA Automation Engineer with German will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and functionality of software solutions. This position requires a degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with experience in software testing, particularly in Agile environments. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in automated testing, JIRA, and communication in German. Responsibilities include designing automated tests, managing test cases, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve testing processes.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design and implement automated tests, write BDD test scenarios in Gherkin using Cucumber
  • Manage automated test cases and test execution in Jira with Xray to ensure high-quality software delivery
  • Develop and maintain user-facing features using modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Analyze requirements and specifications to design and create test cases
  • Plan and execute manual and/or automated tests
  • Document test results and create defect reports
  • Work closely with developers, product managers, and QA team members
  • Reproduce, analyze, and track software defects
  • Develop and maintain test plans, test data, and testing environments
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes
  • Support the release and acceptance process
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and team collaboration activities

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable field
  • Experience in software testing, ideally in Agile projects (e.g., Scrum)
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies, test management, and test documentation
  • Experience working with test management tools (e.g., JIRA / Xray)
  • Experience writing and maintaining test specifications using Gherkin syntax (Given–When–Then)
  • Familiarity with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German are a mandatory requirement for this role

Nice to have:

  • Basic knowledge of programming languages is considered a plus
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git) is an advantage
  • ISTQB certification is considered an advantage
