Job Description

A software tester (Quality Assurance professional) ensures software functionality, reliability, and performance by identifying bugs before end-user deployment. Key responsibilities include creating test plans/cases, executing manual or automated tests, logging defects, performing regression testing, and collaborating with developers to meet quality standards.

Job Responsibility

  • Test Planning & Design: Reviewing software requirements and technical documents to design detailed, comprehensive test cases and scenarios
  • Test Execution: Performing manual or automated tests (functional, system, integration, performance, usability) to verify software behavior
  • Defect Tracking & Reporting: Identifying, documenting, logging, and tracking bugs using tools like Jira, and retesting fixes once resolved by developers
  • Regression Testing: Ensuring that new code changes or bug fixes have not adversely affected existing functionalities
  • Collaboration & Communication: Working closely with developers, product managers, and business analysts to understand requirements and provide feedback on quality
  • Documentation: Maintaining detailed documentation of test results, test logs, and reporting on the overall quality status
