We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring PYP/MYP Music Teacher to join our vibrant arts department. The successful candidate will deliver engaging music lessons aligned with the IB Primary Years and Middle Years Programmes, fostering students’ creativity, musical understanding, and collaborative skills. You will play a key role in developing the school’s music curriculum and promoting a lively, performance-driven culture across the school.
Job Responsibility:
Plan, deliver, and assess engaging Music lessons across PYP and MYP according to IB philosophy
Foster students’ musical creativity, technical skills, and appreciation of diverse musical styles
Lead performances, ensembles, and school music events to showcase student learning
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of learners with varied musical abilities
Collaborate with colleagues to integrate music across the curriculum and support interdisciplinary projects
Maintain and develop the school’s music resources and instruments
Participate in professional learning to enhance IB music pedagogy and teaching practice
Requirements:
A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
A bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, or a closely related field
Experience teaching Music within the IB PYP and/or MYP preferred
Strong musicianship, including performance experience and ability to teach multiple instruments or vocal work
Excellent communication, organisation, and collaboration skills
Enthusiasm for contributing to school life through concerts, productions, and extracurricular music activities
