Job Description

CLC is one of the UK’s leading property maintenance and refurbishment groups with a turnover of c.£250m, around 1,000 employees and a national presence serving sectors such as social housing, defence, hotel and leisure, healthcare, education, and more. We are looking for experienced transmission service operatives to works across multiple sites throughout the UK. Working on high-voltage transmission infrastructure (33kV-400kV), this role supports specialist access, painting and quality assurance activities in line with strict safety and compliance standards. Candidates must have prior experience working on transmission or distribution towers and a strong understanding of maintaining Safety from the System. This role involves working away from home on a rotational basis, typically including alternate weekends.

Job Responsibility

  • Painting electrical tower pylons for the National Grid Contract and other power distribution networks
  • Works will be undertaken on various structures of towers
  • voltage ratings range from 33/66/132/275/400kV

Requirements

  • Previous experience working on transmission/distribution towers
  • Good knowledge of procedure for maintaining safety from the system
  • Able to climb and be comfortable working at height

  • Thorough understanding of Health & Safety, adhering to Health and Safety rules, including ensuring PPE is worn at all times

  • Personal Protective Equipment use & inspection (fall arrest & tower rescue systems)
  • Map reading to ensure agreed routes to work locations are followed exactly

Collaborate on any needed adjustments concerning moisture and texture, etc. Assures batches of filling are mixed and delivered on a just-in-time basis to maintain high consistency batch-to-batch with minimum deviation from formula.
  • Monitor production processing records to assure all record keeping is in line with company procedures and monitors product line performance at requested standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels three (3) days in advance to ensure scheduled production has needed raw materials available and in-house as required.
  • Assures timely and proper storage of rework scrap. Schedules usage of rework scrap to keep levels reduced to a minimum.
  • Train or delegate training of employees as required. Evaluate skills and performance of employees and make appropriate recommendations for improvement.
