We are seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas with expertise in electrical engineering for renewable energy projects, specifically solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and battery energy storage systems (BESS). The candidate will play a key role in the design, engineering, and technical review of utility-scale and commercial renewable energy installations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the detailed electrical design and engineering of solar PV and BESS projects, including single-line diagrams, electrical layouts, and equipment specifications
Perform electrical load calculations, fault current analysis, protection coordination, and grounding system design
Develop, review, and approve engineering documentation, drawings, and reports to meet project and regulatory standards
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, mechanical, and systems engineers to integrate electrical systems effectively
Conduct system modeling and simulation for performance analysis and optimization of PV and BESS assets
Support permitting, interconnection studies, and compliance documentation with local and state regulatory bodies
Lead technical evaluations and troubleshooting during construction, commissioning, and operation phases
Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best engineering practices and standards
Maintain compliance with industry codes such as NEC, IEEE, UL, and ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies
Stay updated on emerging technologies, standards, and market trends in solar and battery energy storage sectors
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas
Minimum of 3 years of electrical engineering experience on U.S.-based EPC projects
Experience in the renewables sector, particularly solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS), is highly preferred
Proven ability to develop, review, and approve detailed electrical designs and engineering documentation aligned with regulatory codes and project requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Willingness and ability to travel for site visits, meetings, and fieldwork
