As a Cost Estimator at Equans Solar & Storage, you will lead cost estimation for large-scale solar PV and battery energy storage projects across the U.S. Your core responsibility is to develop accurate, competitive cost models by collaborating with engineering, procurement, and project teams. You will translate technical designs into detailed cost breakdowns covering materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors, aligned with market conditions and regulatory standards. Your work will directly impact project budgeting, risk mitigation, and profitability, supporting the U.S. clean energy transition. Additionally, you will drive continuous improvements in estimation processes and promote best practices to enhance project delivery and client satisfaction.
Job Responsibility:
Analyze technical specifications of solar PV and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects to identify cost drivers
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates covering materials, labor, subcontractors, and logistics
Collaborate closely with engineering and procurement teams to ensure estimates align with project requirements
Develop competitive cost proposals and support bidding processes for renewable energy projects
Monitor project expenses during execution to ensure adherence to budgets and address cost variances promptly
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance or a related field is required
Minimum of 3 years of cost estimating experience on U.S.-based EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects
Experience in the renewables sector, particularly solar and storage projects, is highly preferred
Proven ability to develop detailed cost estimates, analyze project budgets, and support bidding processes within complex technical environments
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost forecasting
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Adaptability and organizational skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines
Willingness to travel nationally across U.S. project sites
Flexibility for site visits, meetings, and fieldwork outside standard office hours
