Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Purchasing Supervisor to join our Purchasing team in Phu Quoc, Vietnam. As a key member of our procurement department, you will oversee purchasing activities, manage supplier relationships, and ensure the timely acquisition of goods and services while maintaining cost-effectiveness.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with organizational goals and budget constraints
  • Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms with suppliers to secure the best value for the company
  • Oversee the entire purchasing process, from requisition to delivery, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
  • Collaborate with department heads to determine purchasing needs and forecast demand
  • Analyze market trends, pricing data, and supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory levels, and supplier information
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and relevant regulations
  • Coordinate and conduct regular inventory audits with storeroom personnel
  • Mentor and supervise junior purchasing staff, providing guidance and performance feedback
  • Implement and maintain quality control measures for purchased goods and services
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable and high-quality supply
  • Stay informed about industry trends and innovations in procurement practices
  • Local knowledge essential

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role
  • Proven track record of successful contract negotiations and cost savings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices
  • Experience with procurement software and inventory management systems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards is a plus
  • Knowledge of local suppliers and market conditions in Vietnam is highly desirable
