Job Description

Hayley Dexis has an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Purchasing Supervisor to join our well-established and experienced Fluid Power team based at in Halesowen. As a Purchasing Supervisor, you will play a key role in supporting the continued growth of the fluid power team at Hayley Dexis. Reporting into the Product Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the purchasing function, ensuring the timely and cost‑effective procurement of materials, components, and services critical to operational success.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead, motivate, and support the purchasing team, providing guidance and prioritising workloads
  • Source, negotiate, and place orders for materials, components, and services in line with business requirements
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and delivery expectations are met
  • Monitor supplier performance and address issues relating to quality, delivery, or cost
  • Identify cost saving opportunities and support strategic sourcing and supplier rationalisation initiatives
  • Ensure purchasing processes comply with company procedures, quality standards, and commercial agreements
  • Manage purchase order accuracy, pricing, and lead times within the ERP/MRP system
  • Mitigate supply chain risks and proactively resolve shortages or delays
  • Provide purchasing data, reporting, and insights to support operational and management decision making

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role
  • Previous experience supervising or mentoring others, with the confidence to lead day‑to‑day activities
  • Strong supplier management and negotiation skills, with a focus on quality, cost, and delivery
  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, production, and planning teams
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
