Job Description:

Purchasing Manager position responsible for procurement of cruise vessels, working closely with project managers and ships. The role involves supplier research, developing procurement strategies, price analysis, negotiation, supplier management, and participation in worldwide drydocks.

Job Responsibility:

Responsible for purchasing of cruise vessels in cooperation with project managers and ships
Research suppliers from various sources
Develop procurement and negotiation strategy
Perform price analysis and confer with suppliers
Negotiate price, availability, and delivery schedules
Manage supplier performance
Work independently with minimum supervision
Attend trade shows, audit suppliers, visit ships
Participate in worldwide drydocks as part of project team

Requirements:

Commercial vocational training or bachelor degree or equivalent
Ships related procurement experience or specialized technical experience required
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and priorities
Negotiation and analytical skills required
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in a multicultural environment with all levels of employees and management
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel
Fluent in English and German, both written and spoken
