Job Description:

Are you an experienced Purchasing Manager with a passion for procurement excellence? Our client, a leading infrastructure services provider, is seeking a dynamic individual to lead their procurement team in Sevenoaks on a fixed-term contract for 6 months. Job Responsibility:

Lead and motivate the procurement team to achieve optimal performance
Oversee day-to-day purchasing activities, ensuring timely procurement aligned with budget constraints
Streamline procurement systems to reduce downtime and enhance efficiency
Collaborate with IT and finance teams to ensure seamless integration of procurement software
Foster strong relationships with internal teams, including project managers and site personnel
Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure competitive terms and conditions
Maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness
analyse market trends to identify and evaluate potential suppliers
Collaborate with internal departments to forecast demand accurately
Prepare insightful reports on purchasing activities and supplier performance
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in all purchasing activities

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or senior buyer in civil engineering, construction, or reinstatement sectors
Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and practises
Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with a focus on team development
Proficiency in procurement systems
knowledge of Sicon and/or SAGE is a plus
Excellent negotiation skills with a successful contract management track record
Deep understanding of buying policies, compliance, and procurement best practises
Strong analytical skills to assess supplier performance and market conditions
A collaborative mindset with the ability to work across various departments
Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple tasks
CIPS qualification (or working towards) is desirable

CIPS qualification (or working towards) is desirable
Proficiency in procurement systems
knowledge of Sicon and/or SAGE is a plus
