Job Description:

The Purchasing Intern is responsible for stock procurement and flow management. The Purchasing Intern must demonstrate very good team spirit and a good sense of observation in order to carry out meticulous and quality work. He/she must demonstrate a spirit of synthesis and a strong sense of negotiation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Receive, store and distribute goods and ensure stock rotation (replenishment) of commissary goods and organize storage areas on a daily basis
  • Participate in the preparation of requisitions according to the various requests of hotel departments, based on the FIFO (First in, first out) system
  • Participate in the registration of incoming and outgoing goods in the Birchstreet software
  • Participate with the entire Purchasing department in managing and updating the Birchstreet software
  • Work closely with the Finance department, and more specifically with Accounts Payable
  • Participate in inventories, inventory controls and Menu Engineering in conjunction with Cost Control

Requirements:

  • Possess the legal right to work in France at the time of application
  • Fluency in French and English

  • Prepares, submits, and manages import/export authorizations (i.e. Technical Assistance Agreements (TAA), Manufacturing License Agreements (MLA), ATF permits, Department of State/Commerce Licenses, etc.) required to achieve business objectives utilizing the OCR/EASE Export Management System
  • If approved by BAE Systems, will function as a designated “Empowered Official” per the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), to provide required certifications to the U.S. State Department Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC)
  • Understands and applies U.S. Import/Export Regulations (International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), BATFE regulations), and company import/export policies and procedures
  • Supports internal customers across all functions with the review/approval of international travel requests, international visit requests, international purchase orders, document reviews, and international shipments
  • Provides import/export training to new employees, current employees and special programs
  • Reports potential import/export violations to the Import/Export Manager or Director
  • Supports, prepares for, and participates in internal, external and government audits
  • Coordinates with internal customers to vet pending imports and notifies the Import Team to ensure timely and compliant import transactions
  • Maintains a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety objectives and company policies
  • Shares responsibility of self-development with immediate supervisor
