The Purchasing Expeditor plays a vital role in ensuring that raw materials, components, and supplies required for valve production are delivered on time, in the correct quantities, and in compliance with specifications. Working closely with purchasing, production, and warehouse teams, the Expeditor helps maintain smooth operations by monitoring material flow, preventing production delays, and coordinating with suppliers.
Job Responsibility:
Process corporate purchase orders acknowledgements in MRP system for correct part number, quantity, pricing, delivery and ship to information and freight method
Monitor purchase orders and delivery schedules to ensure timely receipt of goods and services
Track and update the status of shipments, proactively resolving issues that may cause delays
Maintain accurate records of order progress, shipment details, and supplier performance
Communicate with vendors and suppliers regarding order confirmations, delivery schedules, and shipment status
Negotiate expedited delivery when necessary to meet urgent project timelines
Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers to support long-term partnerships
Work closely with procurement, project managers, logistics, and operations teams to align material delivery with demand requirements
Provide regular status reports and updates on critical orders to stakeholders
Support cross-functional initiatives to improve supply chain responsiveness
Identify potential supply chain bottlenecks and implement corrective actions
Escalate issues to management when delivery timelines are at risk
Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to shipping documents, invoices, or quality concerns
Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times
Assist in the development of vendor performance metrics and evaluation
Contribute to company-wide initiatives for operational excellence
Requirements:
2–5 years of experience in expediting, procurement, or supply chain management
Strong knowledge of purchasing and logistics processes
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
Ability to read purchase orders, bills of materials, and basic engineering specifications
Nice to have:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field
Knowledge of valve components, machining processes and shop operations
