We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Coordinator to join our manufacturing team in Hanford, California. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a key role in managing procurement processes, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services essential to production. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to contribute to supply chain optimization and cost management.
Job Responsibility:
Procure raw materials, tools, supplies, repairs, and other items necessary for production and operations
Place purchase orders efficiently and in compliance with company policies to ensure timely delivery of materials
Monitor inventory levels, conduct reviews of non-stock items, and analyze dead inventory to maintain optimal stock within company guidelines
Collaborate with suppliers to achieve cost-effective solutions and maintain quality and priority standards
Follow established processes for purchase order approvals and ensure adherence to purchasing and inventory management policies
Work closely with vendors to negotiate pricing and secure reliable delivery of goods and services
Conduct monthly inventory cycle counts and manage stock replenishment procedures
Analyze data to determine fair pricing and identify supply demands for production and plant upkeep
Expedite purchase orders and communicate expected delivery dates to relevant departments while ensuring resolution of backorders
Develop and implement strategies to reduce costs, improve supply chain efficiency, and support manufacturing objectives
Requirements:
At least 2 years of experience in purchasing or procurement roles within a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of purchasing activities, processes, and inventory management
Proficiency in managing purchase orders and working with suppliers
Familiarity with good manufacturing practices (GMP) and food safety regulations
Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions regarding pricing and supply needs
Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities
Strong communication skills for supplier collaboration and internal coordination
Experience with inventory cycle counting and maintaining accurate records
