Job Description

The Purchasing and Inventory Specialist is a key driver of our operational success, ensuring smooth and efficient procurement while keeping our inventory optimized. In this dynamic role, you'll play a critical part in sourcing quality materials, maintaining seamless stock control, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support both production and office needs.

Job Responsibility

  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure stock accuracy
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in inventory levels
  • Issue purchase orders (POs), verify pricing, and promised delivery dates
  • Monitor stock levels and reorder raw stock goods to prevent shortages or excess inventory
  • Work with vendors and suppliers to manage incoming stock and ensure timely deliveries
  • Coordinate with production teams to ensure materials are available when needed
  • Oversee the organization of storage areas for efficiency and accessibility
  • Resolve issues related to product quality, pricing discrepancies, and delivery delays
  • Stay informed about new products, trends, and remain laser focused on cost-saving opportunities
  • Generate inventory reports and metrics, presenting findings to management on a regular basis when reporting is available
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders via email, phone, and in person
  • Maintain accurate inventory records prior to and throughout the implementation of the Epicor ERP system
  • Work with the Publix team on a plan to successfully move all products currently stored and shipped from Ray Hamilton, back into the CIP facility utilizing the current space we have available
  • Assist in shipping and receiving processes, as needed, ensuring proper documentation

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing and inventory control management
  • Proficiency in database management and ERP systems
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret inventory data and recommend solutions
  • Exceptional organizational abilities, attention to detail, and multitasking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with diverse personalities and departments

  • Provide input and recommendations for monthly forecast reviews.
  • Plan inventory flow, analyze statistical data, and generate forecasting solutions to ensure our warehouses are stocked with the right products.
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers (ex. Product reliability, past RMA data).
