A busy company in the Fairfield area is seeking a Purchasing Analyst to join their growing organization. This Purchasing Analyst role is a data-driven one responsible for analyzing, developing, and executing sourcing strategies that support new business initiatives and ongoing production needs. This Purchasing Analyst position partners cross-functionally to evaluate supplier capabilities, model costs, and optimize supply chain decisions to drive profitability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
Job Responsibility:
Analyze and evaluate potential suppliers based on cost structures, capacity, quality, and lead-time performance
Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified suppliers using data-driven assessment methods
Build cost models and perform comparative analyses to support new business opportunities and product launches
Partner with Sales and Finance to provide sourcing insights for quoting, forecasting, and margin optimization
Collect, analyze, and benchmark supplier quotations to identify cost drivers and savings opportunities
Lead data-supported pricing negotiations and optimize commercial terms with suppliers
Translate demand forecasts and inventory data into purchasing plans and procurement strategies
Monitor purchase orders, supplier performance, and key KPIs to ensure on-time delivery and supply continuity
Develop sourcing strategies that balance cost, risk, scalability, and operational requirements
Analyze supplier performance and drive continuous improvement across cost, quality, and delivery metrics
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field
3-5+ years of experience in sourcing, supply chain, or planning roles
Strong analytical, financial modeling, and data interpretation skills
Advanced Excel proficiency
Pivot Tables and Vlookups required
Excellent communication, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
