On behalf of our client, a prominent Victorian transport organisation based in the Melbourne CBD, we are seeking an experienced Purchasing Administration Officer for a 3-month contract. This is a hands-on, operational role providing critical compliance oversight, purchase order (PO) management, and supplier administration.
Job Responsibility
Vet, verify, and process POs against valid contracts, quotes, certificates of insurance (COI), spend delegations, and procurement policies before approval
perform high-volume transactional activities and maintain accurate records in ERP and procurement systems (Zycus and JDE)
manage supplier onboarding and insurance verification
provide day-to-day support, system guidance, and issue resolution to internal requisitioners and diverse business stakeholders
identify, report, and escalate non-compliant transactions
contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to reduce recurring issues and strengthen controls
Requirements
Non-entry-level experience in compliance-driven procurement, finance, administration, or corporate services roles
must be highly competent in managing PO workflows
confident using Microsoft Office (with Intermediate Excel proficiency)
strong familiarity with ERP or procurement systems (Zycus and JDE are highly preferred)
