Job Description

The ideal candidate should have strong negotiation skills, vendor management experience, and exposure to procurement in a manufacturing environment, preferably plastics/masterbatch/chemical industries.

Job Responsibility

  • Procure raw materials including polymers (PE, PP, etc.), pigments, additives, packaging materials, mechanical parts, electrical parts & other
  • Ensure uninterrupted availability of materials for production planning
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers/vendors
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers
  • Compare supplier quotations and optimize procurement cost
  • Work on procurement cost reduction strategies
  • Explore opportunities for bulk purchasing, cash discount procurement, alternate sourcing, better commercial terms
  • Monitor market price trends of polymers and related raw materials
  • Coordinate with Stores and Production teams for inventory planning
  • Avoid stock shortages and excess inventory
  • Ensure proper reorder levels and procurement planning
  • Prepare and maintain Purchase Orders, vendor records, comparative statements, procurement MIS reports
  • Track pending orders and ensure timely delivery
  • Coordinate with Production, Stores, Accounts, Quality Control
  • Resolve procurement and material-related issues effectively
  • Ensure procured materials meet required quality standards
  • Coordinate with QC for supplier quality evaluation
  • Maintain procurement documentation and audit readiness

Requirements

  • Graduate / MBA / Diploma in Supply Chain / Material Management preferred
  • 5–8 years in Purchase / Procurement role
  • Experience in manufacturing industry preferred
  • Exposure to plastics/masterbatch/polymer industry will be an added advantage
  • Experience in SAP Softwear
  • Vendor negotiation

  • Cost control & commercial negotiation
  • Inventory coordination
  • Market analysis
  • Strong follow-up & coordination skills
  • Knowledge of polymer/raw material market trends
  • MS Excel (mandatory)
