Our client, a respected name in the utilities and infrastructure sector, is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join their growing finance team. Job Responsibility:
Handling supplier invoices and matching them against purchase orders
Supporting Project Managers by processing approved orders accurately and on time
Assisting with the onboarding of new suppliers and subcontractors
Performing supplier statement reconciliations to ensure accurate accounts
Preparing and processing weekly supplier payments
Providing cover for key finance functions, such as subcontractor invoicing and cash allocation, during absences
Carrying out ad hoc analysis and general finance support as required by the Finance Manager or team
Requirements:
GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grade 6–9
Previous experience using computerised accounts systems (e.g. Sage 200)
Solid attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy
Clear and professional communication skills – both written and verbal
Good telephone manner and ability to work well with colleagues and suppliers
Highly organised with the ability to juggle priorities and meet deadlines
Confident user of Microsoft Excel and Word
Nice to have:
Familiarity with contract costing or Sage Job Costing is an advantage
