Role: Purchase Head. Key Responsibilities include Procurement Strategy & Planning, Vendor Management, Cost Control & Negotiation, and Process & Compliance. Required Skills & Competencies include team leadership and development.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with company objectives
Source and procure raw material and bought out
Lead long term agreements with the vendors to ensure cost effectiveness and continuity of supply
Identify, evaluate, and qualify supplier ( domestic & International)
Drive supplier performance on quality, cost, delivery and service
Conduct supplier audits, performance reviews, and capacity assessments
Benchmark and analyse market trends and pricing to negotiate best in class rates
Implement cost reduction initiatives without compromising on quality or timelines
Drive cost reduction initiatives through alternate sourcing, re-engineering, and volume bundling
Ensure effective use of ERP systems are complaint with company policies and industry standards ( ISO, ASME, Etc )
Maintain procurement records, report on procurement metrics, delivery schedules, and cost analysis
Collaborate with quality, Design, Planning and production teams to align procurement with projects requirement
Lead and mentor a team of purchase engineer and executive
Develop Skills and Capabilities within the team for effective supplier engagement and negotiation
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Post-Graduate Diploma / MBA in Supply Chain / Materials Management (Preferred)
Industry background: heavy engineering, power equipment, process equipment, or similar manufacturing sectors
Strong knowledge of vendor base, material types and other technical requirement
Expertise in SAP. Data analysis, and contract management
Preferred Industry Experience: Engineering, Heavy Machinery, Capital Equipment, EPC, or Fabrication Industry experience
